Garden Etiquette

Please remember the following Garden guidelines:

  • Stay on paths.
  • Deposit trash in designated receptacles.
  • Do not pick flowers or climb trees.
  • Pets are not allowed. (Sight-enabling guide dogs/animals are permitted.)
  • Picnic only in the designated picnic area.
  • No strollers, tripods, monopods, or easels in the Conservatory.
  • Shirts and shoes are required at all times.
  • No fires, alcohol, or portable radios.
  • Recreational sports, including skating, ball playing, cycling, etc., are not permitted.
  • Smoking is prohibited in: all buildings; the Forest; the Children's Adventure Garden and Family Garden ; the Rock and Native Plant Gardens; the Conservatory courtyards; and the public Tram Tour and all other Garden tour vehicles. We ask that visitors do not smoke in the outdoor portions of the cafes or when participating in a public walking tour. Smoking is permitted in all other outdoor areas.
