Moore in America Catalog

The beauty of Henry Moore’s sculpture within the magnificent landscape of the Botanical Garden is captured by noted Moore photographer David Finn in the catalog for Moore in America: Monumental Sculpture at The New York Botanical Garden.

Finn has been photographing Moore’s work for nearly 40 years. His images of all 20 of the large-scale works at the Garden are accompanied by complete descriptions of the sculpture. A feature essay by Anita Feldman, curator of the Henry Moore Foundation, discusses Moore’s art, his intent for it to be viewed in open-air spaces, and why The New York Botanical Garden is an extraordinary site for his sculpture.

In his foreword, Todd Forrest, Vice President for Horticulture and Living Collections at the Botanical Garden, describes the fascinating planning process and the positioning of the pieces in select locations throughout the Garden. The 84-page color catalog also includes archival images of Moore at work, a chronology of his life, and a bibliography.

Moore in America: Monumental Sculpture at The New York Botanical Garden exhibition catalog retails for $26 ($23.40 for Garden Members) and can be purchased online with your ticket order, at nybgshop.org, or onsite at Shop in the Garden.
