Registration and Payment

Advance registration and payment are required for all programs.
Combined classes are not permitted.
An invoice will be mailed or faxed to the school detailing visit schedule and payment. Payment is due as soon as possible, but no later than the date on the invoice. The scheduled visit is not confirmed until payment is received.
Payment may be made by purchase order, check, money order, or credit card (MasterCard/ VISA/AMEX).
Purchase order copies must be received two weeks before day of scheduled visit. New York City Department of Education Vendor Code NEW095; Contract No. 6163408. Please note that you are responsible for forwarding Purchase Order information to your district.

Changes and Cancellations

If you make a scheduling change, we will attempt to reschedule your visit within the school year.
After the first scheduling change, a $15 processing fee will be charged for each additional change.
Cancellations made at least 4 weeks in advance will receive a full refund. Cancellations made 2-4 weeks in advance will be refunded 50%. For cancellations made 2 weeks or less before program, there are no refunds.

Before Arrival

You will be mailed a map with specific entrance and exit procedures for the school group entrance–the Everett Garden Gate.
If your group is traveling on more than one bus, please make sure that a teacher on each bus has a bus pass and a group entrance pass.
Bus Pass: Put the color-coded bus pass in the front window of the bus. This is the only way Garden staff will be able to direct you to the correct program.
Group Entrance Pass: Please fill this out before disembarking the bus.

Arrival

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in and get to your specific program location.
All programs will end at the originally scheduled time. Groups arriving more than one-half hour late will be cancelled. No refunds are available.

Chaperones

For Pre-K, one adult chaperone is required per five students. For Grades K and above, one adult chaperone is required per seven students. A maximum of five additional chaperones may accompany a class for an additional fee of $12 per person.

Inclement Weather

Programs run rain or shine. Please have students dress appropriately for the weather.

Accessibility

The Botanical Garden, its buildings, and its tour vehicles are accessible. However, portions of the Family Garden, Rose Garden, Home Gardening Center, and Forest may be inaccessible due to rocky, muddy, and/or narrow paths. Adult wheelchairs are available for use. Also, sign language interpreters are available. Please notify the Children’s Education Registration office of any special needs at least 48 hours in advance when registering.

Lunch

Eating is permitted in designated outdoor picnic area only.

School Bus Directions

All school buses should stop at the Garden’s school group entrance, the Everett Garden Gate, located on Southern Boulevard across from Fordham University.

From there, they will be directed to either disembark or proceed to a different location. Bus parking is not available within the Garden. However, there is street parking along Kazimiroff Boulevard (Southern Boulevard).

From Western Westchester Major Deegan Expressway South

Take the Major Deegan Expressway (I–87) southbound to the E. 233rd Street Exit. Make a left onto 233rd Street and follow to Webster Avenue. Turn right onto Webster Avenue and follow to Bedford Park Boulevard. Turn left onto Bedford Park and continue to light. Turn right on Kazimiroff Boulevard. Bear right at the fork on Kazimiroff to Crotona Avenue. Turn left onto E. Fordham Road and left onto Kazimiroff Boulevard. The Garden is on your right.

From Manhattan and New Jersey Cross-Bronx Expressway North
Take the Cross-Bronx Expressway (I–95) north to the Webster Avenue Exit. Make a left onto Webster Avenue and follow to 180th Street. Turn right onto 180th Street. Turn left onto Southern Boulevard. Southern Boulevard turns into Kazimiroff Boulevard once you pass Fordham Road. Follow as directed above.

From Long Island and Queens New England Thruway North

Take the New England Thruway (I–95) north to Pelham Parkway West Exit. Take Pelham Parkway to Kazimiroff Boulevard. Turn right onto Kazimiroff Boulevard. Follow as directed above.

From Connecticut and Eastern Westchester New England Thruway South

Take the New England Thruway (I–95) south to Pelham Parkway West Exit. Take Pelham Parkway to Kazimiroff Boulevard. Turn right onto Kazimiroff Boulevard. Follow as directed above.
